Aire

(a novel)

...a romantic fantasy for young adults

Analisia is a seer, a princess with a courageous spirit — and a soft spot for Legends.

Jovani is a legend, a commoner with little patience for pampered royals.

Analisia is supposed to keep her visions a secret, but when her servant girl is abducted in her place, she feels compelled to use her gift to find the girl, even if it means disappointing her imposing grandmother, the queen. Disguised as plain Ana, the princess slips away from the palace and joins in the search for the missing girl with the girl's brother, Jovani.

Jovani also has a secret: he's a sentinel, a being who can take the form of a falcon and fly upon the skies. Together they search for the missing girl, attempt to solve the mystery of her disappearance, and evade attempts to capture Ana.

A princess and a commoner. They never should have fallen in love, but they did.

SONGSTONE: the story of a girl who crossed the sky
...an adventure fantasy for young adults

(work in progress)

...one girl, desperate for freedom,
one boy, risking everything to be more than he was meant to be,
one journey,
involving much adventure, an evil sorcerer,
a few mysterious and otherworldy Rehuwi,
and the mystical power of story

As a baby, Kita was found abandoned in the deep forest, so her village has always believed she was touched by Rehuwi, the unearthly beings of the forest who possess otherwordly powers. They see her as not quite human, not fully Rehuwi, and they fear her. Because of this, Kita has known much rejection and hardship. She longs for freedom from her evil master, a sorcerer who practices black magic using drops of Kita's blood.

When a journeyman arrives to take a storyteller (one who can magically meld story into stone) back to his village, Kura sees a chance for freedom. But in order to be chosen as storyteller, Kura has to reveal her gift before the main assembly, and her evil master. When Kura is chosen to make the journey, Matiko vows to get her back. Kura and Pono—the young journeyman whom Kura instantly dislikes— begin their journey over the island’s hostile terrain. They learn firsthand all the tricks, charms, and furies of the mysterious Rehuwi, and they have to evade the black magic thrown at them by Matiko. Only by accepting Pono’s help and by learning to master her new-found Rehuwi powers can Kura finally defeat Matiko and strip him of his power.

Actions speak louder than words…

Solena, a young healer with a generous heart, is desperate to heal her dying grandfather. When she ventures into a hostile territory to find a rare herb, she finds out just how much she’s risked when she’s captured by the enemy and accused of being a spy.

As a soldier, Rundan has struggled all his life to please his father, a ruthless army commander, but when he’s ordered to take the beautiful trespasser to the royal courts, where she’ll be summarily tried and executed, he’s plagued by the most inconvenient desire to protect her at all costs.

Though terrified and anxious to escape, Solena is confused by the handsome young soldier who cruelly captures her and then displays uncommon kindness. When he risks his own life to save her, she discovers she may have risked more than her life… she may have lost her heart.
